The Endless Steppe

I have just finished reading The Endless Steppe by Esther Hautzig. What a great true-life story of this Jewish family that is deported from Vilna in Poland to Siberia during WWII. The town of Vilna is now no longer part of Poland, but is called Vilnius and is the capital of Latvia.

The story is about how the family survive the cold of Siberia and eventually start making friends and then get sent back to Poland after the war.

Such a great story and it only took about a day to read.
