The Endless Steppe
I have just finished reading The Endless Steppe by Esther Hautzig. What a great true-life story of this Jewish family that is deported from Vilna in Poland to Siberia during WWII. The town of Vilna is now no longer part of Poland, but is called Vilnius and is the capital of Latvia.
The story is about how the family survive the cold of Siberia and eventually start making friends and then get sent back to Poland after the war.
Such a great story and it only took about a day to read.

One day...... one day..... just a bit of training and I'll swim across the world. Or maybe just half the world. I think the routes presented here by Swimtrek are fantastic and I would love to do them all.

Aaah... The Holga Toy Camera. This is what I would like to try one day. I just don't know how to have the medium format developed. But just look at the mood this shot creates. Too see more photos taken with the Holga, google Toy Camera or Holga Photos. Happy Hunting!

Here are photos taken of Henri CARTIER-BRESSON. This one taken in France. Paris. 1967. Courtesy Robert DELPIRE.

HENRI CARTIER - BRESSON - What a guy! I have just read an article about Henri in the Evening Standard. Apparently he did not like posed or set photos, he believes in the speed of taking photos and did not believe in using flash at all. His compositions were of real life situations and people. Absolutely wonderful! If you have a moment, treat yourself and follow the link through to this iste showing some of his photos.

London Walks
Welcome to London Walks
Now here is something I would love to have the time for. London Walks. I have read the book on London by Peter Ackroyd and found it OK to start with and then heavy in the middle and then I gave up three quarters of the way. I think it is because of the way the book is ordered.
Anyway, this looks like a great site to get to learn more about the history of London and the history of the City.

Juliet's Drawing
.jpg)
This is a drawing Juliet did of Sarah and myself this morning. Even down to the necklace, glasses and hair with Sarah and even down to the buttons and morning stubble with me. Juliet is 5 years old.
